For this year's trip, the Wheelers based themselves in the Kingsknowes Hotel in Galashiels. The team of six (Alan, Darryl, Laurie, Phil, Lander and Jon) assembled on Friday evening 27 May 2005 and returned on Monday 30 May.

		Freshly cleaned and oiled, ready for the rigours ahead. Pity about his legs.

Circular Tour from Kingsknowes Hotel round Melrose and St Boswells. 27miles (34 for Alan).

		Fortified by tasty breakfasts, Lander and Darryl get their bikes ready.
Route Planning. Four heads good, two heads bad.
		St Boswells - time to stop for tea and scones.

Circular tour from Galashiels to Peebles and back. 46miles.

		En route to Peebles - the Tweed Valley has beautiful views. Phil can't understand why, within 50 yards of starting a climb, he is 200 yards behind.

		The team enjoys a nice cuppa coffee.
It was windy but with only a couple of light showers and lots of sun. Darryl on Peebles High Street.
		That evening the full team head off for an aperitif in Melrose......
....and swap yarns over a pint after dinner.
